Chairman’s Message

I am the Founder Chairman of Vidya Niketan School which was Vidya Niketan Girls High School earlier. I am primarily a Professor of Economics who has retired after working for 41 years in College of Commerce, Patna. During my tenure as a Professor I got the opportunity to serve as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of esteemed Magadh University, Bodhgaya. I also got the opportunity to serve as a Director of Distance education of the Magadh University.

It was the year 1985 when my father (Late Shri Ram Swarath Singh) confided in me with the responsibilty of starting an educational institution for the welfare of the society. He was a renowned person in the block as well as district for establishing a school for children, a temple for the people to devote prayers, and an Ashram for the people to rest. With his blessings I established a primary school at my residence in West Lohanipur, Patna. Then the school was limited by capacity and means but the eager to do something for the society was high. Gradually the students at the primary school increased by huge number year by year. The demand from the parents was being received to establish a CBSE affiliated school. So based on the huge demands of the parents, Vidya Niketan Girls High School was established in the year 1994 to educate and empower the girls in the society. Back then the culture was non existent for the women to go to school and study. There was a severe lack of school which only emphasized to educate girls. Taking this as an opportunity and a strong will to bring a change in the society, the foundations of the current Vidya Niketan School was laid in the year 1994.

Since 1994 the school has come a long way. We have contributed to the society with IAS in the country, judges in the High Courts, Doctors in hospitals and several Managers & Engineers in the corporate world who are proud to be a part of our alumnus group. I am confident that the students who wish to be a part of our school will help to build a better society.
